It's an odd disconnect with everything that came before it and will undoubtedly frustrate some puzzle gamers who until that point had been happily taking their time to solve puzzles. This is a pretty abrupt change to put so far into the game, and it's strange that the game suddenly ask puzzle gamers to try and get the bobbing cork robot to hit a few important locations in rapid succession with no margin for error. A map would have been a huge help here, or at the very least a compass to point you to where you need to go next.ДЄnother issue that I had with the puzzle design is that after you make your way through a chunk of the game you start encountering puzzles that require more reflexes than thought, and the timing required to make it past these is pretty tight. It soon begins to get difficult to tell where you've been, where you haven't, and were you need to go next. The game has several large caverns with multiple exits that lead to tunnels that often double back to where you started or that only open after you've solved a puzzle somewhere else. The few times that I needed to use the hint button the robot would respond with a question mark which I soon figured out tended to indicate that I was not near a puzzle, but merely lost. The puzzles involve weighing down switches, buckets, or plates, jamming gears in machinery, and other sorts of things that become relatively easy to figure out within a couple of minutes. They were mechanically fine and the game's physics model is pretty good, but the puzzles were all relatively easy to solve. I enjoyed the game's atmosphere, art style, and sharp graphics, but I have to say that the puzzles themselves left me wanting. Press it and a little thought balloon appears above the robot's head and a little pictograph appears to give you a clue as to what to do next. That's it as far as controls go, but you do also have a hint button available. The other control at your disposal is a little tractor beam that comes straight down from the robot's head and lets you pick up small objects immediately below it. You'll bump into things a lot, but your robot is indestructible so no harm comes from it. Watching the robot fly around the screen is a bit like watching a cork bobbing on the surface of a lake. You move your robot with the left stick, and while the power of flight lets you go anywhere on the screen control isn't entirely precise because the little propeller doesn't let you stop or change direction instantaneously.
